Spending Quality Time with Your Dog in Your Residential Park Home

  • 22nd Feb 2018

Spending time with our pets is an important part of life, yet sadly, many lack the time. However, for those living in residential park home, this needn't be the case. Dogs can provide us with endless hours of fun and will offer you endless love, so it's only right that you spend some quality time with your furry friend.

So, how can you spend time with your dog? Perhaps surprisingly, there are many things that you can do to have fun whilst spending quality time together. We've outlined a few of our favourites below!

Do Some Exercise

Exercise doesn't just have to be for you. After all, dog walks are recommended exercise for your dog, but it's not just walking. You could visit a dog-friendly pool and both go for a paddle - it's different and if your dog loves water then they're bound to have a great time. Exercise will also help you to bond and your dog will trust you to ensure it's safe when in the water. You could also go for a jog. It's a great way to burn fat and keep you fit and healthy, as well as being something that you can do together.

Enjoy A Lazy Day

The best part of your dog's day is spending some relaxing time with you, even if that just means a cuddle on the sofa. It gives them a feeling of safety and allows them to relax knowing that you're close. So, why not dedicate a whole day to being lazy with your dog? The pair of you can lounge around and just curl up, watch a good movie and relax.

Take A Scenic Walk

Several of Allens' residential parks are dog-friendly and offer beautiful views and places to walk. Your dog will get to explore a unique and different rural landscape and take in all the various smells, while you can take the opportunity to enjoy the views. It's also good as you won't need to drive to find the perfect walking location - you will be able to leave and arrive back at your home on foot.

Have A Day Out

You might think that there aren't many dog-friendly days out, but you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. Try taking your dog to a pet-friendly café for a bite to eat and go shopping at pet-friendly shops, or take your dog to the pet shop and let them choose an exciting new toy. You could also visit a local park and let your pooch socialise and play with other dogs.

If you're thinking of moving to a residential park home, we have various parks that cater to everyone. For you and your furry friend, Overstone Solarium and Leedons Park are both pet-friendly. For more information or to enquire about park home availability, please call our team on 01564 792323.
