£7.5 Million Investment in Aber Bay Park Facilities
Allens Caravans

As the cultural capital of Wales, Aberystwyth is fast becoming one of the country’s most popular destinations for beach holidays.

The Welsh government designated the town a ‘Regeneration Area’ and is working with local people in the coming years to help the town and its surrounding areas realise its full economic potential. In the autumn of 2021, the town also secured a package of investment as part of the UK’s Levelling Up fund.

With a number of static caravan parks and other places to stay dotted around the stunning Cardigan Bay, Aberystwyth is a leading visitor destination. Ceredigion County Council will be implementing restoration projects to create a thriving and attractive town centre and re-invigorate the seafront and promenade area. The plans will also aim to improve transport and the quality of homes for local people, which will all help to boost the economy and increase employment opportunities.

With this in mind, Allens Caravans is investing £7.5 million in refurbing and upgrading its Aber Bay caravan park. Works include a brand-new clubhouse with fully upgraded facilities and 65 brand new static caravan units located on a cliff top offering the most stunning and unique sea views across Cardigan Bay.

Beach at Aber Bay Cliffs

Stunning Seafront Location

Aber Bay has been a hugely popular destination for beach breaks in Wales for many years now. Its unique position tucked into Clarach Bay makes it probably the closest holiday site to the beach of all the other sites in the locality. You can, literally, step directly down onto the beach. Allens Caravans wanted to give existing and future holiday homeowners and their guests the benefit of a truly luxurious and state-of-the-art experience every time they came on holiday.

“We are proud of every one of our caravan holiday parks throughout the UK and Wales, and Aber Bay is going to be truly setting the standard in terms of quality of facilities and stunning location,” commented Allens Caravans managing director Joe Folkes. “Our £7.5 million investment is our commitment to all Allens customers that we will be continuing to make improvements for their benefit. The Aber Bay site has always been popular, and our aim is to take that success and popularity and make it even better. Our plans are focussed on taking what works, and what is loved by our customers, and enhancing it on every level.”

New Developments

A primary area for improvement is the construction of a brand new, purpose-built, multi-storey clubhouse, incorporating a swimming pool, restaurant, and roof terrace bar. The clubhouse will be a stunning venue providing quality hospitality and entertainment uniquely for holidaymakers staying at the Aber Bay caravan site.

The importance of the clubhouse to holidaymakers cannot be underestimated. It is the social focus of the whole park. With a beachfront location, it has all the facilities required to make your beach holiday in Wales a comfortable, enjoyable, relaxing, and fun experience.

If you’ve had enough of swimming in the sea – or indeed it is a little too chilly because your stay is during the cooler spring and autumn months - then the state-of-the-art upgraded indoor heated swimming pool will help you float away any lingering stresses and strains.  If you have children that need to expend some energy, our playgrounds and games rooms offer a safe haven for them to meet their friends and hang out, giving the parents a chance to relax and have some downtime.

Clubhouse Development at Aber Bay

Taking Advantage of the Clifftops

A rooftop terrace will give a 360-degree panoramic view of the bay and the surrounding countryside. As the cooler months set in, you can take your drink to the indoor bar, restaurant, or lounge area, which has been designed to take full advantage of the clubhouse’s clifftop position.

The new clubhouse is currently still under construction and will be opening in early 2023. We will keep you updated and bring you a full breakdown and photos of the new clubhouse when it is fully open.

A particularly exciting project is the development of 65 brand-new clifftop lodges. These luxuriously appointed lodges will offer two-bedroom accommodation, which we guarantee will become a home away from home for all the lucky new owners. The lodges are being constructed using all the latest static caravan technology, incorporating full insulation, double glazed sealed windows and doors, 21st century fitted kitchens, and bathrooms.

But the most important feature of these lodges will be the unfettered, unobscured sea views right across Cardigan Bay. No other caravan park in the area can offer such a unique setting, and this is what makes Aber Bay such a unique and exclusive destination for all our customers, year after year. We welcome families and their pets for ten and a half months of the year.
