Allens Caravans

Christmas is fast approaching which means there’s lots going on in and around our residential parks.

If you’re a new resident at our Leedons and Broadway parks in the Cotswolds, or if you’re a long-term resident looking for new ways to enjoy the upcoming season, there are plenty of activities to get you in the festive spirit and geared up to enjoy a thoroughly traditional Cotswolds Christmas.

Spectacle of Light

For the last six years, the Spectacle of Light at Sudeley Castle has been putting on a magical light display within the castle grounds. Now in its seventh year, the castle is once again inviting families, couples, and everyone in-between to come together and share in the beautiful atmosphere until the 30 December. Find out more about the Spectacle of Light and book your tickets here.

Christmas Markets

Cotswolds Christmas markets are aplenty this year, so no matter where you are in the area, there’s bound to be a market close by. You could even visit them all if you have the time and want to see everything independent Cotswold retailers have to offer this Christmas. Some of the most popular markets include the Blenheim Palace Christmas Market, the Cirencester Advent Festival, Christmas Market, and Arts and Crafts Market, the Cheltenham Christmas Market, and the Abingdon Angel of Gracie Markets, Christmas Farmers’ Market, and the Charter Market. If you don’t want to travel, our sites are conveniently located next to Broadway village which also hosts its own Christmas market.

Santa Express

Looking to welcome your family to your park home this Christmas? If so, there is plenty for little ones to do, including the return of the Santa Express. Hop on board a locomotive at Toddington Station and enjoy a festive ride to Winchcombe, aka the North Pole. Upon arrival, Santa and his helpful elves will greet you, and you’ll get to take a leisurely walk through a wonderland of illuminations and decorations. There will be free mince pies and hot drinks, and children will each receive a gift.

Learn more about the Santa Express and book your tickets here.

Light Switch On

Like many places around the UK, attending a light switch on is one of the most traditional Costwold Christmas events. There are several light switch on events taking place this year, including in the larger locations like Bath, Cheltenham, and Gloucester, but if you’d prefer something more intimate, head to some of the chocolate box villages like Tetbury and Burford.

You can find more information about the light switch on events by searching online for each specific location.
