In 1992, approximately 30 years ago, my partner and I decided to buy a touring caravan after wanting to travel absolutely everywhere we could together! We loved getting out and about and exploring – it really was exciting and enjoyable.
One weekend we decided that we didn’t want to travel too far, so we booked into a site call at Leedons Residential Park, situated in the stunning Cotswolds. To our surprise, we really did fall in love with Leedons.
We began to travel to Leedons nearly every weekend, and over the next three years, we met and made many wonderful friends, both on-site and in and around the close by villages. To this day, we still have strong friendships with the owners of a local pub!
In 2000, we decided to buy a residential home at Leedons Park as we were spending every weekend there. My husband began to get slightly fed up with towing it back and forth nearly every weekend, and he wanted to make life a little easier.
Across the next 14 years, we spent many happy weekends at Leedons. From enjoying the many facilities to meeting the most incredible people – we loved it. As everything does, the touring site did eventually close, and for us, the timing felt right to sell up…
Our daughters and their families have owned a caravan at Sunbeach Holiday Park for decades, so one weekend we thought it would be fun to stay there for a few nights, as we knew they really did have fun when they stayed there.
This is where our exciting new adventure began. Once we decided to sell up at Leedons, we then part-exchanged and bought a caravan at Sunbeach Holiday Park! We absolutely love it there, and it’s enabled us to watch our five granddaughters grow up enjoying it as well.
Eventually, we bought a bigger lodge as the family grew and it was becoming quite squashed in the caravan! So now, my grown-up children use the caravan and we have the perfect views along with peace and quiet in our lodge. Sunbeach is our life’s retreat now.
After a tough year, and with my husband recuperating after a terrible life-threatening road traffic accident, through no fault of his own, we know that our happy place, at Sunbeach Holiday Park will help him get through it. Life is so precious, we enjoy every moment while we can as you never know what the next day, month, or year will bring.
Thank you to Allen Caravans for letting us have our precious memories over the many years. We’ve been able to watch my children and my grandchildren grow up and enjoy both Leedons and Sunbeach, and are proud to be a part of the Allens group.
