Considered one of England’s most outstanding viewpoints, the tower is a perfect landmark from which to start or end a long hike in the Cotswolds. With displays on three floors and impressive views over a 62-mile radius covering 16 counties, Broadway Tower was built in 1798 and has enjoyed a colourful history over the years. Most notably, it was used to monitor any possible nuclear fallout during the 50s and as such, a fully functioning bunker has been built on the site.

The castle plays host to ten unique gardens which are lauded as some of the finest in the country, what’s more, an adventure playground and a wildlife trail provide entertainment for all the family. The castle itself is awash with history and culture, and there are a number of displays and exhibitions dedicated to those who have called it home over the years. This heritage railway, as the name suggests, straddles the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire border and is run and funded entirely by a rag-tag group of dedicated volunteers. The Broadway Area Group has played a pivotal role in ensuring it continues running and that extensions and renovations can be made as and when are necessary. A classy experience which offers impressive views of the countryside, by supporting this local endeavour you are ensuring that this important part of English heritage is preserved for future generations.
