Many people choose residential park homes as a way to get away from the stresses of the modern world and live a life of peace and quiet. However, some residents may want to add a personal touch to their new home. With April being Decorating Month, there really is no better time than the present!

However, the majority of residential homes are stylish and modern already, meaning that many people want to decorate their homes in small ways without changing too much of the homes they fell in love with. So, here are a few ways that you can join in with Decorating Month and bring a little personality to your residential home.

Hang Pictures and Mirrors

To give your home a personal touch you can hang pictures – whether it is artwork or family photographs, visitors will be able to tell that this is definitely your home. However, just make sure that your chosen pictures are bright as you want to bring light into your home and avoid making it dull and dreary. You may also want to hang mirrors in some of the rooms to give it a personal touch. This is easy to achieve as you can choose the size and shape of the mirror to help brighten up any room of your residential home.

Lay Rugs

Another way to decorate your home is to lay rugs. There are various colours and patterns that you can choose from and if you want, you can place one in each room of the home! This is a great way to bring colour into your home and if you have a particular colour scheme for any of the rooms, it will help you to achieve your desired look.

Cushions and Throws

You can also lay throws and place cushions in some of the rooms, a particularly effective idea for the bedroom and living room. This is a great way to make your home feel warm, cosy and personal. Not to mention the fact that you can again stick to the colour scheme of the room to make it really personal.

Ornaments

Lastly, you can also place ornaments around the home in various different rooms. Again, you could stick to the colour scheme of the room but you may want any ornaments to stand out so it may be a nice idea to go for colours that will pop. Alternatively, you could also go for large ornaments that will lend individual rooms a particular focus. You can also place your favourite plants around the home to breathe an extra lease of life into your living space.

Each of these ideas is designed to help you personalise your home and while not every idea will work for every home, there are many great ideas that you can use to personalise your residential park home. Whatever you do, there’s no better time than the present to get started on creating the home of your dreams!
