5 Reasons to Love Autumn at Allens Caravans

Autumn is one of the most magical times of the year, especially in the British countryside, with rolling green hills, copper-toned woodlands and crisp blue skies overhead.

But when you spend autumn at one of Allens Caravans’ beautiful parks, you’re in for a real treat. Read on to see just five reasons to love autumn with Allens.

Country walks through crunchy leaves

If ever you had a reason to adore autumn, the carpet of crunchy leaves it brings is it. Whether you’re traipsing down a tree-lined street in Evesham or Stratford-Upon-Avon’s town centre or gallivanting through the hills and woodlands dotted around the Cotswolds, the golden crispy crunch underfoot is enough to put a smile on your face that will last all the way through to spring.

Crisp autumn bike rides

Our parks are ideal for those who like to get out and about on two wheels. We have plenty to explore onsite, whether you want a few laps around one of our lakes at Overstone, or a trip along the River Avon at Orchard Lodge. Alternatively, you can take in the stunning rural backdrops and quiet country lanes by hopping on your bike and nipping to the nearest village pub or local shop. And with a fresh breeze and autumnal blue skies to boot, you can’t go wrong.

Early morning fishing in the first frost

If you’re a fan of early morning fishing then you’re in for a real treat with Allens Caravans, and in the autumn, when the first frost arrives, and the red-and-gold landscape is glittering with frosting just around the edges, you won’t find anything like it. A hot flask, a cosy scarf and just you and the fish for a few hours just after dawn; perfection.

Pumpkin picking

If you remember the simple pleasure of picking your own pumpkin, carving its face, and scooping out its gooey innards every Halloween as a child, you’ll love spending autumn with Allens Caravans. Our parks are all set in the heart of rural England and Wales, so country life is a given, and spending autumn days at pick-your-own pumpkin patches like Bell’s Farm ShopStanley’s Farm Shop, and Pumpkins’R’Us will prove to be quite the treat.

Bonfire Night

Of course, as autumn goes on, and we head ever closer to winter, we can look forward to events like Bonfire Night. The roar of the fire, the warming smell of smoky wood and barbecue bites, and sweet treats like toffee apples and roasted marshmallows make even the simplest village bonfire an occasion for all to enjoy. What’s more, with giant Bonfire Night gatherings and firework displays across the country, you’ll be sure to find something to suit!

As wonderful as all of these autumnal treats are, though, you might enjoy the simple, seasonal pleasure of a cosy night in the caravan. Snug jumpers, a good book or film, and an endless supply of hot chocolate should make even the coldest of November nights one to relish.

So book your caravan holiday now and enjoy your autumn, the Allens Caravans way.
