Here at the offices of www.allenscaravans.co.uk we hear a lot of things about caravans that we cant quite believe! On the 27th of April 2014, the Brooks Guesthouse in Bristol was contacted by none-other than Retro Rockets, British caravan owners, who brought forward the idea of installing eccentric hotel caravans on the roof of the hotel.
To install, the caravans had to be placed on the roof by a crane and the hotel is said to be the only one of its kind in Europe. Unsurprisingly, due to its one-of-a-kind presence, it has generated a lot of attention and, according to the Caravan Times, “has become the latest major Bristol attraction.”
Co-owner of Brooks Guesthouse, Carla Brooks, spoke to Caravan Times and said, “they have been booked out every night they've been open, since the 2nd of May and we have good bookings for the future but we still have availability.”
Prices for these rooftop caravans start from £99 per night for a shared room of up to 2 people. Currently, there are three different types of Rooftop Rockets that are open to the public; these include a 16ft, 18ft and 20ft caravan.
The rocket caravans are also kitted out with their very own flat screen, eco heating and eco showers. View Allens caravans most luxurious holiday parks based around the UK now and book your self a great getaway!
On the topic of these quirky rocket caravans, Carla continued, “We were approached by Retro Rockets headed up by Peter Carrick and Andrew Brooks, my husband and co-director, went to see him and his work and we thought his product was fantastic. It is made in Britain, totally bespoke and extremely high quality, so we were delighted to support another family business in the UK.”
She added, “The interior of the caravans have lots of design chic like pocket sprung mattress beds, goose down duvets, designer guild curtains and cushions, Hans Grohe power showers and retro Roberts radio.”
Carla reported that she felt good about taking on-board the proposal to introduce a new Bristol attraction.
She said, “I feel it was the right decision for Bristol because it's a city on the move and up, it got voted the most popular place to live in the UK. The major George Ferguson is energetic and creative, as are destination Bristol who market the city and that, coupled with our location in St Nicks market, makes for a great place to live and visit.”
