A Family Caravan Holiday | Allens Caravans Latest News
Allens Caravans

Getting away and making memories that last a lifetime as a family is an essential part of the year. With everyone busy with responsibility such as school and work, finding a week or two that you can block out and spend together is a must – and you need not pay over the odds to do so.

Here at Allens Caravans, we host luxury caravans and beautiful lodge parks nestled amidst stunning nature and tranquil scenery for you to relax in and unwind. Whether you wish to visit for a short lazy weekend getaway or a long, activity-packed family vacation, there is something for everyone.

Our caravan parks offer the perfect opportunity for you to explore the British countryside and surround yourself with beautiful scenery in a calm atmosphere. Just the break you need to get away from your busy life! Not only this, but the location of our park sites also makes them even more irresistible, from the ever-picturesque Cotswolds to the pretty market town of Evesham.

With many sites boasting fishing lakes, playgrounds for children, on-campus shops and cafes, a golf course, indoor swimming pool and so much more, there is something to suit all interests and hobbies.

Gaining Popularity

Caravan holidays have been gaining in popularity over recent years for several reasons. Firstly, they offer a sense of nostalgia and familiarity for half the family who will have grown up with staycations every summer instead of jetting off around the world – as is the norm these days.

Secondly, caravans are not what they used to be. Long gone are the days of cramped and confined living quarters and pull-out beds. Many of our caravan holiday lodgings are every bit as luxurious as the hotels you would find across the country – with double glazing, central heating, and comfortable beds!

Finally, there are luxury caravan holidays just a few hours away from home, eliminating the need for queuing at passport control and checking in hours before a flight.

Time to Unplug

Technology makes up such a significant part of life nowadays that it isn’t always easy to ask younger family members to unplug for a few hours, let alone a few days. The great thing about caravan holidays is just how simple it is to ask the kids to stop for a while and appreciate what’s around them. Several of our parks have children’s play and activity areas, as well as swimming pools, so there are plenty of opportunities to tire them out the old-fashioned way!

Appreciating Nature

The locations of our caravan holiday parks in the UK lend themselves extremely well in planning a fun-filled adventure holiday for younger family members. All our parks are nestled in gorgeous scenery, from the plush Cotswolds to the rolling hills of North Wales, so why not plan a nature walk with the grandchildren? Challenge them to find certain plants or count how many different types of wildlife they can spot; get creative! You can even turn it into a bit of friendly competition for lively siblings.

Bonding Time

While it’s wonderful to have the grandchildren over to stay at your home, the familiar setting doesn’t perhaps push them to try something new or focus on their loving nan and grandad. In the more intimate setting of a retirement caravan park, you’re presented with a unique opportunity to set up some bonding time.

Once again, the only limit is your imagination – so try a variety of activities from classic campfire-style singsongs to the time-tested family ritual of board games. Disclaimer: We accept no responsibility for Monopoly-related disagreements!

Why Holidaymakers are Choosing Staycations

There are many reasons why holidaymakers are looking a little closer to home for their annual getaways. Some are choosing to remain in the British isles for financial reasons, simply not wanting to pay out for flights, hotels and everything else that comes with travelling abroad, while others have had their eyes opened to the beauty that is sat right on their doorstep.

While the average day in the United Kingdom may not have the same warm climate as more tropical locations, our British countryside is simply awe-inspiring. If you take a stroll through the Yorkshire Dales or the coast of Wales, you will have your breath taken away by the sights you will behold.

You don’t have to fly halfway across the world for a picture opportunity; instead, you can book yourself a caravan and make the most of park home life with your nearest and dearest. With parks situated in some of the most popular locations in England and Wales, a stay at an Allens Caravans park will rival any luxury resort you could hope to crimp and save a year or more for.

Where Are Our Caravan Parks?

We have nine holiday parks across England and Wales that are open for between 10 and 11 months of the year. Sunbeach and Glan Y Mor holiday parks can be found in beautiful North Wales, while Severnside, Abboy’s Salford, Leedons Park, Bredon View and The Springs Lakeside holiday parks are situated across Worcestershire, all of which provide plenty of adventure for families staying on site.

You will also find Overstone Lakes Holiday Park in Sywell, Northamptonshire and Orchard Lodge Holiday Park in picturesque Barton, Bidford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. Whatever you are looking for, you will find a holiday park that offers everything you are after and more.
