Caravan Holidays in Warwickshire - Allens Caravans Blog
Allens Caravans

Nestled in the heart of the West Midlands, Warwickshire is a county that is steeped in rich history and culture, making it the perfect location for a holiday getaway, and there’s no better way to soak up all the county has to offer than with a traditional caravan holiday.

We operate our popular Abbotts Salford caravan park in the heart of Warwickshire, just a stone’s throw away from the iconic town of Stratford-Upon-Avon. There’s much to see and do in the area, so if you’re thinking of holidaying in the county and are looking for things to do, keep on reading.

Stratford-upon-Avon

The jewel in the Warwickshire crown, Stratford-Upon-Avon is one of the most famous towns in the UK because it was once home to the most famous writer in the world, William Shakespeare. Naturally, there’s a lot of Shakespearian-themed activities in the area, and they’re a must-see if you’re passing by.

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre

You can’t possibly visit the historical Stratford-upon-Avon without incorporating the Royal Shakespeare Theatre into your trip. Re-opened in 2010, this theatre offers the chance to not only watch a selection of your favourite plays and performances but also climb the Tower to see one of, if not, the most spectacular views in all of Stratford-upon-Avon.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to tour on a few special exhibitions as well as book a table for tea at the theatres rooftop restaurant and bar. After you’ve paid a visit to the theatre, why not take a trip down to the Bancroft Gardens which are located right in front of the theatre. This delightful park has been described to provide visitors with a real sense of holiday fun and consists of a number of open-air performers for your entertainment.

MAD Museum

For a more out-of-the-box experience, why not take a trip down to the MAD (Mechanical Art and Design) museum for a wondrous experience alongside a myriad of gadgets and robots featured in the museum. In addition, this museum has put the extra efforts into showcasing a number of eccentric moving arts, imaginative designs and contraptions that will blow your mind! With a unique combination of both old-fashioned and state of the art machines, this particular museum also offers educational benefits for those who are interested in the design, technology and science along with a few exceptional extras for the kids including dancing lasers and lifelike roaring dinosaurs.

Tudor World

If the MAD scene just isn’t for you, what do you say we take a step back in time to a very different age filled with cultural and historical significance? An award-winning museum, Tudor World is located in the very heart of Stratford-upon-Avon and does well to capture and reincarnate the key aspects of Tudor life as well as a small insight into the incredible history behind the town itself. Fun for both the kids and the parents, Tudor World is a brilliant historic site and is well worth a visit next time you’re in town.

Warwick

There’s more to Warwickshire than just Shakespeare; namely Warwick Castle. Located just a half an hour’s drive from our Abbotts Salford park, you can see the historical fortress William the Conqueror erected in 1068, tour the dungeons, climb the towers and explore the manicured gardens.

British Motor Museum

If automotives are your vice, the British Motor Museum is the place to go. Home to the world’s largest collection of British classic cars, there are over 300 vehicles spanning decades of British history. Each car is lovingly restored and displayed in the award-winning art-deco museum building, so if cars aren’t your passion, the architecture surely is.

Why Choose a Caravan Holiday?

So, it’s abundantly clear that there are lots to do in Warwickshire, but why should you choose a caravan holiday? Our Abbotts Salford park offers amenities that hotels simply can’t, including the picturesque 40 acres of river meadowland the park is set within.

Our high spec caravans come complete with everything you’ll need to holiday in comfort, with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and modern utilities. In addition, there’s ample parking which means you don’t need to worry about finding a secure place to leave your car overnight.

Abbotts Salford is home to a heated outdoor pool and a large fishing lake, as well as our clubhouse café and live entertainment at the weekend.
