This part of the country is jam-packed with outstanding views, plentiful walking routes, and family-friendly days out to make sure everyone has an enjoyable holiday!

If you are considering planning a visit to our North Wales holiday parks, Sunbeach or Glan-y-Mor, we've put together a guide to some of the best attractions in the local area. From hiking in the mountains of Snowdonia to getting a first-hand look at some of the region's rich local history, you're going to be spoiled for choice.

Cadair Idris

Cadair Idris is a mountain in the Snowdonia National Park which is highly popular with walkers and hikers. Offering beautiful panoramic views of the breath-taking Snowdonia landscape, Cadair Idris is a more accessible peak to climb than the mighty Snowdon. The most popular walking route up Cadair Idris is the Pony Path, a track offering a moderate three-mile climb from the car park to the summit.

RSPB Ynys-Hir Nature Reserve

The Ynys-hir nature reserve mixes Welsh oak woodland with wet grassland and saltmarshes. In the spring, the ground is carpeted in flowers, and birdsong fills the air. You might see flycatchers and redstarts emerging from the nest boxes. Summer heralds the arrival of wading birds like lapwings and redshanks, in addition to a wide variety of butterflies. Then, in the colder months of the year, ducks and geese move in. No matter when you visit, there will always be something to marvel at in RSPB Ynys-Hir nature reserve.

LLywernog Silver Mountain Experience

Llywernog offers a fascinating insight into life nearly 200 years ago when the mine employed over 60 people. Today, Llywernog is a fascinating and educational family-friendly day out which continues to grow as a major all-weather attraction. The latest attraction at Llywernog is the Silver Mountain Experience, which offers a fantastic visit filled with fun for all the family!

Llanfair Slate Caverns

Enter historic Llanfair Slate Caverns through the main tunnel, under the twin arches of the crypt, and into the lofty cathedral cavern. The tunnels and caverns you will see on your self-guided tour were all manmade over 100 years ago with only a candle to light the way. Today's visitors can see the caverns exactly as the miners left them - complete with scars in the rocks left by the miner's tools!

Magic of Life Butterfly House

Offering a family-friendly all-weather attraction within easy reach of Sunbeach holiday park, the Magic of Life Butterfly House is a fantastic way to spend a few hours. Visitors will get to see exotic plants and butterflies in a painstaking recreation of their natural habitat, learning about these fascinating creatures while admiring their beauty.

Fairbourne Steam Railway

Fairbourne Steam Railway is a charming, quaint, narrow-gauge railway which runs from Fairbourne village to the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary. This much-loved railway has been a staple of the local landscape for over one hundred years, providing joy to multiple generations of holidaymakers over the decades. Take a ride on the lovingly-maintained railway and enjoy stunning views of the Welsh coastline.
