With a range of holiday parks dotted across the UK, you really are spoiled for choice when you choose Allens Caravans. However, this choice can often lead to indecision, with many holiday-goers left wondering which location is best for me?
All our parks offer high quality facilities and easy access to amenities, but there are so many other factors to consider when choosing which of our parks to holiday at, and the most important things to consider are the practicalities.
Depending on the size of your caravan, and whether you’re thinking of bringing an awning with you, you need to think about what size pitch you need. This will also depend on how many people are thinking of coming and how much room you’ll need i.e. whether or not you’ll be BBQ’ing on a summers evening and if you’re taking any pets on your travels. Ideally, you’ll want to look at investing in a slightly larger pitch in case you need the extra space. However, remember that prices will vary depending on the size of the pitch so you need to consider your budget and how much you can afford to spend too.
Keep in mind that you’ll need a bit of extra cash for going out, food and leisurely activities so the best thing to do is review your budget and the prices offered by different sites. This will help you to make a decision on the best site for you.
One of the most important things you need to think about is the facilities that each site offers. For example, you may be looking for a site that offers a nice restaurant, nearby local amenities and a swimming pool. If this is the case, you’ll probably want to look at a site that is near a town or village that can offer the exact activities you’re looking for as well as the other facilities you ideally want. However, if you’d prefer something that offers a variety of walks and hikes, it may be worth looking into a site that’s located near the countryside or mountain range.
If you’re unsure of exactly what the park offers, don’t be afraid to just ask. The parks’ customer service teams are there for a reason and it’s always better to query before you book to avoid choosing the wrong site for you. Click here to view our luxury range of UK caravan sites now!
As mentioned before, site prices can vary, making it vital that you look into how much you can afford and how long you want to stay. By reviewing your budget in this way, you can set aside a certain amount for each detail and still be left with enough to enjoy yourself on your trip away. It’s worth remembering that time of year, pitch size and the facilities offered will all have an impact on the final price so think carefully about each site before making a choice. Again, if you’re struggling to find price details on the website, get in touch with the company and ask about what they can offer you.
When you’ve settled on the practicalities, the next thing you’ll need to consider is the type of holiday you’re hoping to have.
If a water holiday is what you’re after, you’re in luck. Many of our luxury caravan parks in Wales and England are conveniently located in proximity to some of the most stunning waterside locations and attractions the UK has to offer.
Swallow Falls, North Wales
North Wales is famous for its stunning natural landscape, with mountains, rivers and waterfalls carved into it over millions of years. Swallow Falls at Betws y Coed and a whole host of other awe-inspiring waterfalls call North Wales home, and they are all in easy distance from our Sunbeach Park.
Punting in the Cotswolds, Oxford
Long-haul cruises may be a great way to sail around Europe, Asia or the Florida Keys; after all, your accommodation, transport and entertainment are all rolled into one easy package. However, cruises can be an expensive habit, and if you prefer tailor made trips, you might find the static itinerary a little limited. Punting in the Cotswolds though, specifically the city of Oxford, will give you your fix of life afloat, whilst offering you the freedom to explore the city and surrounding area.
The Lake District, Northwest England
The Great Lakes of the United States are a sight to behold. Ancient, astoundingly deep and incomparably large, they are a superb example of the size and scale of America’s natural topography. Water sports, fishing, and walks along the shorelines are all popular pursuits, whilst businesses and communities have thrived beside them. The Lake District in England’s Northwest plays host to some equally impressive lakes; Lake Windermere being one of the most iconic. Our Lake District, as well as being a better choice logistically speaking, has the added bonus of rolling countryside and pretty villages nestled among majestic peaks and lakes.
Overstone Lakes Fishing, Northamptonshire
The fishing facilities at our wonderful Overstone Lakes park in Northamptonshire are second to none, and the accommodation, onsite facilities and natural backdrop are just as, if not more beautiful than anything on offer elsewhere. Plus, this kind of fishing trip is far more practical and cost-effective than some alternatives. Follow this link and have a look at how gorgeous Overstone Park is!
Barmouth Beach, North Wales
Malibu is one of the most desirable destinations in the world, with its golden sands, deep blue water and fun surfing culture. Just because this is a beach fit for the Beach Boys though, doesn’t mean it hasn’t got stiff competition elsewhere. Barmouth beach in North Wales is a beautiful seaside location, with the rugged terrain behind and the crystal blue skies and waters in front. Little fishing boats, water sports, and even marine wildlife make this beach town the ideal spot for water lovers.
These five retreat ideas are just an example of the wonderful waterways and destinations across the UK. Many are hidden treasures that you can discover at your own pace, whilst others are more iconic. However, all are well worth a visit, especially when you consider how time-efficient and cost-effective it is to get the same great experience you could elsewhere.
If adrenaline-fuelled adventure isn’t quite your thing, our caravan parks offer plenty in the way of relaxing and enjoying a more serene type of holiday.
Abbot’s Salford
At Abbot’s Salford, you have the convenience of energetic activities, as well as those that are perfect for winding down in the evening or getting an early start in the morning. For the adventurous types, the park is complete with Pitch and Putt Golf, and live entertainment in the evenings! On the other hand, you have scenic riverside and meadow walks, not to forget river fishing for more relaxed individuals.
Sunbeach
If you prefer sunset skies and beachfront locations though, Sunbeach is for you. Not only can adults enjoy a stroll along sandy shores in this tranquil destination, but teenagers can socialise and get involved in the games room on site! There is something for everyone at this park, with a wonderful children’s play area too, so even teeny tots can make the most of their time away from home.
The Springs
Last, but certainly not least, you have The Springs; a romantic holiday park that is ideal for couples who want a break from busy city life, either to have a relaxing swim in the indoor pool, or embrace their wild side with water sports. The park itself consists of six lakes, all of which offer a lovely walk in the evening after a long day of peaceful activities or exciting amenities.

We are always happy to help you get to know an area, as well as what is on offer there, and what it is like at the park you will be calling home for the duration of your break.

One customer from Worsley commented: “We have just returned this morning from a brilliant four day break, from first getting to the park and being greeted by a lovely man, welcoming us, showing us where to go and telling us to enjoy our holiday. Booking in was easy and finding our caravan was simple. The park was clean and tidy and was very well kept.”
Another customer from Bristol said: “I purchased a holiday home with Allen’s Caravans at Sunbeach, Wales four years ago now. I wasn’t sure at first as we were used to touring with our caravan but with a variety of things to do on and around the site, I am thrilled my wife persuaded me that we should buy a mobile home on the Sunbeach site in Wales. We have made some wonderful friends with our neighbours on the holiday park and with the staff that work there. I love my holiday home. It’s the ideal place to chill out and relax.”
Here at Allen’s Caravans, we pride ourselves on the quality and sanitation of all our parks and make it a priority that our customers enjoy their time with us. We put great thought in maintaining an adequate level of customer satisfaction and encourage our staff to be friendly and cooperative when answering queries and helping onsite.
In terms of our staff, one customer from Reading mentioned how “the owner was welcoming and very helpful – taking time to chat to people is important and having a very open mind to individual idiosyncrasies equally valuable. She told me all about the local walks and viewpoints, signed me up for the free wireless available to the site. Overall a great experience and I would definitely return.”
Another holidaymaker from Henley-in-Arden left a comment saying: “I have just returned from a brilliant holiday with Allen’s Caravans – the location was ideal, the staff were superb and we had fantastic weather, now considering getting a static caravan on their holiday park site.”
