Top Three Winter Activities

Living on a residential park home offers you the perfect opportunity to make the most of each passing season. Whether this means getting stuck in with the activities available onsite or taking a wander around the local town for a peek at the seasonal goods, a park home can offer a lot in the way of convenience and is fully equipped to tackle every high heat and every chilly wind.

As we move into winter, wrapping up warm on the sofa with a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate is certainly an option. However, for those who want to be a little more proactive this winter, read on as we take you through the top three of seasonal activities, all of which are perfectly suited to the park home lifestyle.

Make a Gingerbread House

Whether you are aiming for an extravagant three-story palace or a cute little countryside cottage, making a gingerbread house is a great way to celebrate this season, not to mention dine on a tasty snack whenever the mood strikes.

There are lots of designs available on the internet, from complex structures to sweet and simple gingerbread homes. For inspiration, try sites like Pinterest.

There are also a lot of ways you can spruce up the appearance of your gingerbread house, even if you're not expecting guests. Simply tying a golden or red ribbon around the base or trying your hand at a few miniature gingerbread people can make your gingerbread house feel like a home.

Take a Stroll

There's nothing better than popping on your woollies and heading out into the snow for a stroll around the grounds or a local town market. So, why not see what's on and take a trip down memory lane with a lovely walk in your wellies around the beautiful residential parks we have here at Allen's Caravans.

After your stroll, you can pop the kettle on and make a warming brew before settling down in a blanket and slippers; absolute bliss.

Movie Marathon

There's nothing more seasonal than settling down to watch a movie when winter strikes. To give you a few ideas of what movies fit the winter weather, we have compiled just three movies below:

The Snowman

A heart-warming story about a boy who sculpts a snowman who comes to life, The Snowman is a family classic. The entire storyline is told through nothing more than actions and music, with no words being used throughout the movie aside from the famous song ‘Walking in the Air'. Get the tissues at the ready for this touching tale of friendship.

A Christmas Carol
Another winter classic now, A Christmas Carol is a wonderful movie that follows the life of Ebenezer Scrooge and his journey into the past, present and future. The film features four ghosts that take him through the tenses and attempt to change the mind of Scrooge who despises Christmas.

Edward Scissorhands

Another tear-jerker now, Edward Scissorhands is just the movie to watch this winter. Following the life of Edward, played by Johnny Depp, Tim Burton depicts his journey of trying to fit into society. Dark yet heart-warming, it's perfect for a late night flick.

Do you have any more movie suggestions that you'd like to share?

From all of us here at Allen's Caravans, have a lovely winter and make the most of this season in your residential park home with these few ideas!
