Staying Healthy in Autumn

Now that we are firmly within autumn's grasp and the days are getting colder by the minute, it is more important than ever to stay as healthy as possible. We're talking hearty autumn meals and rosy cheek inducing walks in the countryside - all of which are part and parcel of life at one of our residential caravan parks.

Feeling a chill in the air on a brisk autumnal walk through the rolling hills is a great way to spend the afternoon, before a lazy evening full of warm, comforting homemade food. If that sounds right up your street, then keep reading because we're serving up some great autumn health tips for one and all.

Health Starts in the Kitchen

Living in one of our residential caravan park homes doesn't mean you have to give up the home comforts of a fully functioning kitchen - far from it, in fact; with many of our luxurious homes offering all the mod cons you would expect.

What this really means is there are no excuses when it comes to staying healthy this autumn. There is an abundance of seasonal fruit and veg considered as super food at this most wonderful time of year, which makes for excellent additions to your menu plans.

Apples, pears, tangerines and grapefruit are all in season, and with plenty of varieties to choose from, your morning breakfast or seasonal crumble will be packed full of flavour and healthy vitamins.

Parsnips, cauliflower, squash, sweet potatoes, turnips, Brussel sprouts and, of course, the most autumnal offering of all: pumpkin, are all readily available at farm shops and supermarkets around the country, ready to fill out your soups, roast dinners and even pies!

Take in the Fresh, Autumn Air

Getting out and about is important at all times of the year, regardless of the weather forecast. Nothing can beat the feeling of knowing you have done something positive for your health - be it a half hour swim in the morning, an afternoon playing bowls with the neighbours, or taking the dogs for a walk through the hills and local woodland.

However you choose to spend your time, be sure to stay active and eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to keep health on your side.
