Name Change: NEC Caravan & Camping Show | Allens Blog
Allens Caravans

The National Caravan Council (NCC) has recently announced that it will be changing the name of the popular Caravan and Camping Show to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show following an extensive period of consumer research and strategic review.

The annual show, which takes place in the NEC in Birmingham from the 17th to the 22nd February 2015, is set to play host to hundreds of exhibitors from the travel and holiday industry. It is hoped that the name change will help to make the show more encompassing, which will attract more visitors and better attract people to their areas of interest.

The new show will also be zoned accordingly into several distinct caravan, camping and motorhome areas; these distinctions will be supported in pre-show activity and show content. Tickets for the show will be made available later on this year and further details and show information can be found at www.caravancampingmotorhomeshow.co.uk.

NCC Events CEO John Lally Emphasizes the Inclusion of Motorhomes in the Show

Quoted in an NCC press release, John Lally, the NCC Events CEO said, “By incorporating motorhomes into the show name, consumers will better understand what this event offers from a product perspective. This change is especially relevant for new entrants to the    market,    as we know they would not necessarily    appreciate that    a caravan show encompasses motorhomes. So by including motorhomes into the Show name visitors understand that they will have the opportunity to see across the entire spectrum of our industry.”

For the un-initiated, the NCC is the official trade association for the caravan industry, but it also includes touring caravans, motorhomes, caravan holiday homes and park homes. In addition to this, the association also represents     some 800-member outlets in manufacturing, park operations, distribution, retailing, and in the provisions of specialist    suppliers and services within the UK caravan industry, which    has an estimated annual worth of £6 billion.
