Things To See and Do Around Worcestershire

Situated in the heart of Worcestershire, Abbot’s Salford is perfectly located to enjoy a last minute caravan holiday with the family at Allens Caravans. The site itself has a range of facilities, including pitch and put, private fishing and meadow and riverside walks to keep everyone entertained.

However, since you are on the doorstep of the Cotswolds and Shakespeare’s country, you are in the perfect position to go exploring should the mood strike you. So, if you are considering booking a stay with Allens Caravans at Abbot’s Salford, below we have listed just a few of the local attractions and day trips that are suitable for all the family! Click here for Abbots Salford caravan holidaystoday!

West Midland Safari and Leisure Park

Touted as the perfect family day out, the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park is home to over 165 different species and dozens of attractions on its 200 acre site. During the 4 mile driving safari through the park, visitors will come face to face with giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, monkeys and many more exciting species!

The park also maintains an amusement park, not to mention an aquarium as well as insect and lizard habitats. Visitors can view and take part in regular animal feedings and a number of shows involving the parks more exotic inhabitants.

Black Country Living Museum

If you have an interest in local history, then you should definitely pay a visit to the Black Country Living Museum in nearby Dudley. The museum strives to portray, through actors and recreated streets, what life was like in this part of the country during the industrial revolution.

The museum itself is situated in one of the extensive canal networks which formed the lifeblood of the industrial revolution. Also, all of the buildings that you can see in the living museum were actually dismantled brick by brick from where they were found, then rebuilt and fully restored at this new location. Onsite you will find an authentic chemist shop, a bakery, a fish and chip shop and finally, a pub. Tunnel walks and trolley bus rides are also available, making this the perfect addition to a day exploring!

Wyre Forest

If you feel like doing something a little more active, then look no further than Wyre Forest. Wyre, and the surrounding woodlands, are perfect for those who want to get out and about.

There are a number of physical activities on offer, including mountain biking, extensive forest runs and walks, a GoApe forest adventure course and play areas for younger children. Also, the forest is a habitat to a wide variety of animals and insects, all of which can be learned about at the forest visitor and information centre.

So, for an all-round holiday with something for everyone, look no further than Allens Abbot’s Salford holiday park. Full details of our holiday parks can be found on our website, but for more information and booking enquiries, please do not hesitate to get in touch today!
