The weather may not be getting much warmer, but don't be fooled - spring is slowly on its way! While you wait for the caravanning season to roll around again, it is the perfect time to get busy planning your holidays for the year ahead and booking into your favourite caravan holiday parks.

First things first, it is important to take the time to assess your touring caravan for any damage or issues that have surfaced over the winter break, especially if it has been sat in storage for several months. Cold weather can cause problems in caravans, ranging from damp to cracked water or heating pipes, so it is a sensible idea to get your caravan serviced to ensure everything is working as it should before you head out on the road. And, of course, you will want to make sure that you give your caravan a thorough clean, inside and out; to get it all spick and span with a spot of spring cleaning!

Discover your Ideal Caravan Holiday Parks

Once your caravan is all ready to go, the next step is to decide where you want to stay this year. Some people prefer to decide on all of their holidays at the start of the year then book them in one go, whereas others prefer to play it by ear and book holidays as and when they feel like it. Whichever camp you fall into, now is the perfect time to start planning holidays and researching the caravan holiday parks that you want to visit over the year ahead.

Then, when you have decided on the caravan holiday parks that you want to visit and have successfully booked yourself in, it is a good idea to do a little bit of research into the local area around the site, especially if you have never stayed there before. This will enable you to discover attractions and things to do in the local area and allow you to make a list of everything you want to do while away. It will, therefore, prevent you from wasting precious holiday time sitting in your caravan trying to decide what to do! If you are a keen walker or are intending to bring your dog along with you, it may also be a good idea to research walking routes or trails in the area, so you know where to go and can avoid getting lost!
